The University of Bayreuth offers a wide range of Bachelor's and Master's programmes. But you can also study to become a teacher or take the state examination in law in Bayreuth.
- How do you get a place at the University of Bayreuth?Hide
For some degree programmes you have to submit an application:
- Degree programmes with restricted admission
- Degree programmes with aptitude assessment process
- Degree programmes with course orientation process
- Master's Programme
You can enrol directly for open admission degree programmes within the respective enrolment period. Once you have entered your data at CAMPUSonline, your application will automatically be set to Admitted.
Please note: If you earned your higher education entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur/Fachabitur) or your master's entrance qualification (usually a bachelor's degree) in Germany, you should apply like an applicant from Germany, regardless of your nationality, since in this case you count as a so-called Bildungsinländer (foreign national with a domestic higher education entrance qualification).
- What does it cost to study at the University of Bayreuth?Hide
No university fees are charged for studying at the University of Bayreuth. However, every student is required to pay the semester fee.
- The “€9 ticket” and its impact on the semester fee in Winter Semester 2022/23Hide
From June to August, your semester ticket has the same validity as a “€9 ticket“ for all local public transport within Germany. This means that there is no need to buy a €9 ticket in addition to your semester ticket.
What does this mean for the semester fee?
Thanks to the savings brought about by the implementation of the €9 ticket for the months of June to August, the semester fee will decrease by a total of €5.04.
The University of Bayreuth will follow the proposal of Bavaria’s State Ministry of Housing, Construction & Transport and the State Ministry of Science & the Arts and reduce students’ semester fee for Winter Semester 2022/ by exactly this amount. For Winter Semester 2022/23, the semester fee will therefore be only €112.86.
