Deferring Admission or De-registration
Have you been admitted but would like to defer the start of your studies to another semester? This is what you need to do:
1. Decline your study place or de-register
- If you have been admitted to a degree programme but have not yet enrolled, you can decline the place in your CAMPUSonline account. To do so, click on "Decline study place offer" for the relevant application.
If this is no longer possible, contact studierendenkanzlei@uni-bayreuth.de and state your applicant or application number. Declining a place in a degree programme does not revoke the admission. - If you are already enrolled, you can cancel your enrolment up to 4 weeks after the start of the lectures for the respective semester. Further information can be found under De-registration.
- If you de-register within four weeks of the start of lectures, the semester will not be counted and will have no effect on exam deadlines.
- Please note: If you de-register later than four weeks after the start of lectures, the semester will be credited and the deadlines for examinations will become active (Section 9 (5) of the University of Bayreuth's Enrolment, Re-enrolment, and Withdrawal Regulations).
2. Applying again
- To obtain re-admission, you will need to submit a new application for the semester in which you wish to start your studies within the regular application deadlines, using your existing CAMPUSonline account. Please upload all application documents again. Admission will generally remain valid as long as there have been no significant changes to the admission criteria of the programme.
