Find your programme

Still not sure which degree programme is right for you or suitable based on your previous qualifications?

Our Bachelor's degree programmes are for prospective students who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree. Typically, degree programmes last 6 to 8 semesters and offer a solid foundation of knowledge in the respective subject area, as well as access to the German labour market. The University of Bayreuth's diverse range of Bachelor's degree programmes should appeal to a wide audience of prospective students. Whether your interests lie in natural sciences, languages, business administration, cultural studies or engineering - the University of Bayreuth has something for everyone. The degree programmes are practice-oriented and optimally prepare students for the job market.

In many degree programmes, the Bachelor's course at the University of Bayreuth is characterised by a special subject structure. At the beginning of the degree programme, you can choose a minor subject that is fully integrated into the programme of study. The minors that can be chosen promote the interlinking of basic scientific knowledge and practice-related knowledge, or are geared towards broadening subject-specific competencies. The degree programmes for which this is possible can be found in CAMPUSonline by selecting the degree option ‘Bachelor of Arts (major/minor)’.

In order to enrol on a Bachelor's degree programme at the University of Bayreuth, you must have the required university entrance qualification and a solid knowledge of the language of instruction (usually German in the Bachelor's degree programme).

In the Master's programme, you can deepen the knowledge acquired in your undergraduate studies and specialise in a particular subject area. Most Master's programmes at the University of Bayreuth are consecutive. This means that they build on the content of certain Bachelor's degree programmes at the University of Bayreuth. Information on this can be found in the examination regulations under admission requirements. Degrees from other universities and degrees obtained abroad will be checked for comparability with the Bachelor's degree on which the respective Master's degree is based.
